Mr Rajdeep Mukherjee
Policy Analyst
Mr Rajdeep Mukherjee joined the BOBP-IGO in 2004 as a Research Associate and later assumed the position of Policy Analyst in 2009. His responsibilities include assisting the Director in programme development, implementation and evaluation; providing scientific inputs for policy advisory and theoretical contribution towards improving fisheries management of the region. His main contributions include assistance in developing national MCS plans for BOBP-IGO member- countries, policy advisory in improving small-scale fisheries in the region and addressing IUU fishing and livelihood support through improving fisheries management, etc. He was also credited for assisting in designing and implementing the first national level study on socio-economic condition of salt workers in India.
Earlier he has worked as a Research Associate in the Centre for Rural Economy, Appropriate Technology and Environment (CREATE) in Saint Joseph’s College, Darjeeling, where he helped in developing marketing strategy for the handloom and handicraft sector of North-East India for the Consortium of Indian Industries and developing a guideline for private-public partnership for greening of degraded forest lands.
Mr Mukherjee holds an M. Phil Degree in Economics from University of North Bengal with specialization in Natural Resource Economics and Econometrics.
